lyrics
At the dark end of the road
Where the lonely people go
I’ve been driving through the night
Just searching for a sign
When an old familiar song
Comes on the radio
Makes me think of you
And the times that we had
You said we’d meet again
Amongst some other things
Now it’s been years since we last spoke
Saw your smile and held you close
Are you still running through the night?
Looking for that line
Then that old familiar song comes on the radio
Makes me think of you
Down on a dead end street
I long to be with you
Hold your hand and let you know
I understand, I understand
In those times we were close
Shared our dreams and our hopes
But time waits for no one
You called and asked would it be alright
If you could spend the night
Turned out to be the time that we last spoke
Shared a smile and had a toke
I’m still driving through the night
Still searching for that sign
Then that old familiar song comes on the radio
Makes me think of you
And the times that we had
And the lies we were told
From the moment we were born
Well it didn’t have to be that way

As a lifelong fan of psyche, I was delighted to have found this, stunned that I'd missed them for three decades and devastated by the news of Dallas' passing. Makes many of the album's lyrics even more poignant. I hear echoes of the Chocolate Watch Band, Long Ryders and both the pop and country sides of the Byrds. Stunning, and a contender for my album of the year. Iain H

I feel like a dork for just now (May 2021) stumbling on this alternate version of GOODBYE Blue Monday. If it's half as good as the original, it'll still be twice as good as most of the other music out there. sandymanthemusicfan
